How To Uninstall Visual Studio 2008 Completely with Utility

I was trying to install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 r2 in my Windows 7-32bit machine, but after few steps it was showing me an error that either you have to uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or have to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1, I decided to remove VS 2008. But it was not available to the list of Uninstall programs.
So I have downloaded an Utility called AutoUninstall provided by Microsoft which can completely remove the Visual Studio 2008 from your machine and thanks god now I am able to install SQL Server 2008 r2 in my Machine. Following is the details about this utility with Download link.
This is a tool which helps to uninstall Visual Studio 2008 automatically. This tool doesn’t uninstall Beta release only official release and only available for English version.

OR use following alternate link

Steps to Use the Utility

Click on Yes and on following screen click on Next button

Wait till the time utility finds the previously install components and wipe off them completely from your machine.

Click on Done
AutoUninstall utility will work on the following Microsoft products:
  • Visual studio Express Editions
  • Visual Studio Team System
  • Visual Studio Professional
Note: Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 RC/RTM uninstall tool will not uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Beta releases. To completely uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Beta releases, Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 core component corresponding to Visual Studio Edition installed on your computer. For example, If you installed Visual Studio 2008 Team System Beta2, you can uninstall “Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 – Team Suite”. This would uninstall Visual Studio 2008 Beta components that need to be uninstalled prior to installation of Visual Studio final release.
Hope this helps!
