The latest wireless technology will enable users to access faster data service compared to the current 4G networks. The 5G service was successfully tested with a 28 Gigahertz waveband to transmit data at a speed of 1 Gbps. According to Samsung, the fifth-generation network will allow you to download an entire movie in less than a second.
The newest platform will also allow you to download and upload data at incredible speeds of tens of gigabits per second as compared to the 75 Mbps on the current 4G LTE networks.
Samsung is said to have used 64 antenna elements, which allow the smartphone to exchange real-time signals. The 5G service is rumored to become an international standard in the future.
Sony Announces Xperia ZR Waterproof Smartphone

Sony has announced the younger sibling to the Xperia Z: the Xperia ZR. The Xperia ZR includes many of the Z's features in a smaller, more compact design.

Just like the Xperia Z, the Xperia ZR is waterproof and dust-resistant. This time, Sony is not just advertising the fact that the Xperia ZR can survive underwater but that you can actually use it there, particularly for taking 13 megapixel pictures and full HD videos with the camera and dedicated shutter button.
The Xperia ZR has a 4.55-inch, 1280 x 720 resolution LCD. Sony is using its BRAVIA Engine 2, along with something called OptiContrast panel. This basically gets rid of the extra touchscreen layer by integrating the touch sensor on the panel itself, which improves image quality and makes the display assembly thinner.
Other features include a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064, 2GB RAM, 8GB internal memory with microSD card slot and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The Sony Xperia ZR is expected to go on sale around the world in Q2, 2013.

A lawyer from Peshawar has challenged the ban on YouTube in Peshawar High Court, by maintaining that the ban on the video sharing website should be un-blocked.
Petitioner,Mian Mohibullah Kakakhel, said that its in the larger interest of general public to access the YouTube.
He mentioned that authorities concerned, i.e. PTA and MoIT have failed to block the specific URLs that contain blasphemous content – unlike they claimed at various occasions – and that blocking whole website is not a solution.
Petitioner is of the view that YouTube contains countless useful videos that can not be found on any other resource. He said that nature of videos available on YouTube includes topics such as history, culture and religious importance besides music, sports, movies, news, animal planets, cartoons for kids and sermons of Islamic scholars.
He claimed that YouTube was the only website containing education contents, which encouraged students and citizens to learn technical things like making new software, robots, mechanical engineering, software engineering, how to install a hardware, advance cell phone usage and installation of software. He said that most of the software might not be provided here, or if available, a hefty amount of fee was demanded.
Petitioner said that YouTube ban is violation of basic human rights and their right to access to information that is available Publicly.
PTA through its Chairman and Minister for MoIT were made respondents to the case.
It maybe recalled that YouTube was banned in Pakistan on September 17th, 2012 when blasphemous videos on the website had triggered worldwide protests from Muslims. Pakistani authorities – during the while – tried several time to contact Google and get the access of these videos blocked in Pakistan, but they failed.

Polling time in Pakistan for Election 2013 has ended. Election results and updates have already started to pop-up, however, social media is already filled with many unpleasant rigging videos and images from today’s elections.
Election-Day rigging isn’t new in Pakistan but filming such incidents and exposing these rigging videos to entire world is a new phenomenon.
Despite the fact that mobile phones were not allowed inside polling booths, it was observed that presiding officers didn’t bar the voters from carrying cell phones. And hence every citizen was equipped with a camera to film rigging videos that they witnessed inside the polling stations.
Interestingly, majority of these election rigging videos surfaced from Karachi and Hyderabad. These rigging videos were first shared by individuals who filmed them and soon they were replicated all over Facebook and Twitter.
These election rigging videos have been shared by thousands of users and now everyone knows the hidden reality of election-day rigging.

Since it was announced, Windows Blue has functioned like a carrot on a stick for Windows 8 users who have had complaints about the operating system. Well, that may very well be majority of the users, but Windows has never been a stranger to complaints anyway. It is quite expected then, that Microsoft quickly came up with an update that was supposed to address those concerns. Initially labelled Windows Blue, Microsoft has decided to launch the more appropriately named Windows 8.1 update in June this year.

There’s even better news. Windows 8.1 is going to be a free upgrade. Current Windows 8 users will be able to gain access to the upgrade from the home screen, that is, when Windows 8.1 launches. Don’t hold your breath for when that happens, though, as no details about the release date have been announced.
You might want to mark your calendar, specifically June 26, as this is going to be the date when a preview version is going to be made available to the public.
Considering that there has been so much noise about Windows Blue – in spite of the fact that all we had to go on were rumors – the news that Windows Blue is dead in the water should satisfy many an armchair critic. From bringing back the Start button (optional) to providing the capability to boot to the desktop – these rumored features have given pundits fodder.
Now we don’t know if these features are going to make it to the renamed Windows 8.1, but this move of Microsoft’s might just be a good thing for the much maligned operating system.

What do you think about this change of heart?
Does Tumblr Have A Porn Problem Or Not?

Does Tumblr Have A Porn Problem Or Not?

So the Interwebz is all abuzz on a Monday, thanks to the news about Yahoo buying out microblogging site Tumblr. Not everyone is on Tumblr, for sure, but the site has had a very strong following, and one would normally say that it is a feat for Yahoo to acquire such a platform. But is it, really?

According to Forbes contributor Peter Cohan, it might not be all sugar and spice and everything nice, though. He highlights four tests of a successful acquisition – all of which Yahoo is supposed to have failed. The reasons?

Tumblr’s industry is not attractive.

Combined companies are worse off.

Yahoo is overpaying. (To the tune of $1.1 billion)

Yahoo will struggle to integrate Tumblr.

Users probably do not care about those four tests, with only “What will happen to my Tumblr?” on their mind. If Matt Mullenweg (the WordPress dude) can be believed, they’ve already seen 72,000 blog posts imported from Tumblr in the short span of one hour (on Sunday). I suppose that is as good an indication as any that the Tumblr acquisition may not have pretty results.
Then there’s the “Tumblr porn problem”.
Well, some say it does not exist. Some would say, the Internet is for porn.

Just another pretty girl on Tumblr, but a huge portion of the content is not as family safe as this image.

The fact of the matter is that Tumblr officially accepts NSFW blogs, as long as they are aptly labeled as such. That should end the question right there. NSFW may not always be porn, but that sure says a lot.
Peter Kafka of AllThingsD also has an interesting take on this in his article about Yahoo not thinking that there is a Tumblr porn problem. He makes an example out of one site, Girls in Yoga Pants, which might be seen as innocuous if you want to go that route. (After all, who’s to say that people don’t want to see how yoga pants fit before they buy? Yoga is a popular activity these days!)

Apparently, there is a proliferation of these kinds of sites on Tumblr.

Is there a problem or not? It depends on your perspective. As a user, you’re not obliged to see that kind of content. As an advertiser, apparently Tumblr’s set up is that advertisers do not have to worry about showing up on sites that are NSFW. From this perspective, it is a non-issue. The problem will lie in parental guidance and control.

Now A days social networks sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc launches new features and facilities day by day. As we all know that twitter has a verified mark in famous person and celebrities profile, so, few days ago, Facebook also launched new feature that verified pages and profile of celebrities, we can simply get idea by viewing below image that Facebook get idea from Twitter.

Are you a celebrity with a large online audience? Soon, Facebook’s verification feature will determine just how famous you are. The company announced Wednesday that it’s rolling out a new verification feature for prominent celebrities and public figures, obviously quite similarly to Twitter’s verified feature.

The company said that verification would be available for a “small group of prominent public figures (celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular brands and businesses) with large audiences,” and that it will begin rolling out slowly.

Twitter has been verifying celebrities and notable people on its platform for years now, and some of those people, particularly celebrities and musicians, have amassed strong followings on Twitter. Facebook has been trying to create more of that relationship between celebrities and fans with its “following” feature for pages and the latest news feed redesign that provides a tab to follow public figures.

The verification will appear next to a user’s profile with a blue check mark (that also looks very much like the Twitter version):

Now We can see 2nd below image of Indian film star “Amitabh Bachchan” Facebook page, there is blue verified mark, when you hover over the cursor on it then tool-tip appear with text “Verified Page” or “Verified Profile”.

Many times people cannot decide that which page is real and which is fake, so this feature will help us to like and follow real celebrities pages and profiles as well.
So, now if you think, that you want to verify your profile or page, then you will be not able to request for it, because Facebook doesn’t provide this features to all Facebook user that means only celebrities can get verified page and profile.

you can read more about this feature on Facebook News Room, there you will find many other news about Facebook. Hope you enjoyed this post,
After Mobilink’s huge response Ufone also introduced that amazing offer to send free sms from your Gmail account to any Ufone number in Pakistan.
Gmail SMS is now available for Ufone numbers as well. Gmail SMS was initially launched in February by Google and was only available for Mobilink numbers, but now, you can even send free texts to Ufone numbers. There is no official announcement by Ufone yet, but we are guessing it would be up soon on their Facebook/Twitter pages.
What is Gmail SMS? It is a free web-to-SMS service which allows Gmail users to send text messages to any Ufone subscriber via Gmail chat. Ufone users can also reply back to that SMS which will appear on Gmail user’s chat box – just like chatting on Google Talk. For more details, read: Gmail SMS – How Does It Work and Details.
How to send SMS from Ufone number:
Like mentioned earlier, note that Ufone users cannot initiate chat by themselves with any GMail user i.e. they have to receive message from the GMail user first to whom you want to send SMS.
Once you have received the SMS from GMail user, you can simply reply it from your number and message will appear as a reply in GMail chat.
Following is a sample screenshot which I’ve tested myself and it is working pretty fast infact.
Service Charges:
• Sending SMS from GMail is practically free as you are charged with one credit only and recharging credit is pretty easy(explained below).
• Chat replies by Ufone numbers will be charged at Rs. 1 + Tax
How to Get GMail Credits:
• SMS sent by GMail are not actually free but considering the criteria they are practically considered as free as you get 50 credits initially whereas each credit is consumed by sending one SMS.
• For every chat reply received from Ufone number, your account again gets credited with 5 credits so your GMail account will stay fully credited if your contacts are active enough to reply.
• If you are left with 0 credits and haven’t received any reply from mobile user, just don’t worry and wait meanwhile they will automatically be recharged with 50 credits after 24 hours.
Useful Commands:
• HELP: Can be used to get list of useful commands.
• BLOCK: Can be used to block messages from a Gmail user. This command should be sent in response to the SMS from that Gmail user whom you want to block.
• UNBLOCK: Can be used to un-block Gmail user. Use this command if you have blocked some user through above command and now want to unblock him/her
Following commands can be sent at 2434000:
• STOP: To block all messages from all Gmail users.
• START: To resume receiving SMS messages from Gmail if you’ve blocked them via above command.

Following its tradition of covering all the empty spots, Samsung, the current leader in the smartphone industry has unveiled yet another duo of smartphones with incredibly large displays. The phones, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 are also named accordingly with their sizes.
Both of these handsets are in fact so big that they can easily put the Galaxy S IV to shame. And the Note II isn’t that far either.

Here we are discussing the better of the two, the Mega 6.3 in detail.
Galaxy Mega 6.3 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean customized with Samsung’s Nature UX. Galaxy Mega 6.3 has also borrowed some of the software tricks from the Galaxy S4. The Mega 6.3 is equipped with a 6.3 inch display on the front with 720p HD resolution. The capacitive multitouch display is protected with Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
Under the hood is a dual-core 1.7Ghz Cortex A15 processor and (an unusual) 1.5GB of RAM. The internal storage is set at 8 or 16GBs which is expandable via a microSD card slot. At the back is a 8 megapixel camera along with a 1.9 megapixel camera at the front.
Connectivity options are quite a lot too. The Mega 6.3 supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, USB-on-the-go, NFC, IR Blaster, Wifi Hotspot and GPS. Despite all this rich package, the phone is just 8mm thick.
Here are the full specs of the smartphone:

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean customized with Touchwiz UI

6.3 inch display with 720p HD resolution

Weight: 199g

Just 8mm thick

4G LTE supported

1.7Ghz dual-core Cortex A15 processor

Mali-T604 GPU

1.5GB RAM with 8/16 GB expandable storage

8 megapixel back camera with LED Flash and HDR

1.9 megapixel front camera

Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, USB-OTG, NFC, IR Blaster, Wifi Hotspot, GPS

3200 mAh battery

The phone will be available in May this year. No word on pricing has been given currently.
One thing to Note in this package is that the duo does not support the S-Pen. While one of Galaxy Note’s key selling features was this very thing, it will be interesting to see whether the Mega phones will be able to repeat its success without it.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8

The second of the ‘Mega’ phones unveiled by Samsung alongside the Mega 6.3 was the Mega 5.8. The phone is not exactly the cheaper version of the Mega 6.3 phone. Other than the obvious screen size, the phone is behind the smartphone in a number of ways.
To start off, the phone will come with a 5.8 inch display with pretty average qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, which will probably raise a lot of eyebrows. Just like the Galaxy Mega 6.3, the Mega 5.8 also follows the usual Galaxy S III design language. The phone is just 9mm thick and weighs 182 grams.
It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean customized with Samsung’s Nature UX. Under the hood is a 1.4Ghz dual-core processor alongside 1.5GB of RAM. The amount of storage is set at 8GB which is expandable via a microSD card slot.
At the back is a 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, HDR mode and 1080p Full HD video recording. At the front is a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera. A dual-sim version of the phone will be available too.
Unfortunately though, a lot of features found in the Mega 6.3 are missing here. The software tricks of high-end Samsung smartphones are missing here and so are the high-profile connectivity options including NFC, LTE and IR Blaster.
Here are the full specs of the Mega 5.8:

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean customized with Touchwiz UI

5.8 inch display with qHD resolution

9mm thick

Weight: 182grams

Optional dual-sim support

1.4Ghz dual-core processor

1.5GB RAM with 8GB expandable storage

8 megapixel back camera with Full HD video recording

1.9 megapixel front-facing camera

Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, GPS, Wifi Hotspot

2600 mAh battery

The phone will be available for release this May. Considering its specs sheet, it should be priced closer to the Galaxy Grand.

Speaking at the press conference Salman Wassay, Chief Commercial Officer Ufone said that “Ufone has always been in the lead to offer attractive and meaningful promotional offers to its customers. In the past, 30 customers have benefitted from the two previous Ufone ShahCar offers. Ufone under its ShahCar offer is working in a number of ways to change the lives of the people involved and these 50 winners in almost two years is a true example of that”.
Wassay added, “Today we are giving away a brand new Toyota Corolla to 20 lucky Ufone customers, this is a basic necessity and cannot be afforded by many. Ufone through this scheme has established a credible prize scheme for its customers that is trusted far and wide in Pakistan..”
He also congratulated the winners and wished them best of luck.
One of the lucky winners from Kasur, while expressing his happiness over winning a brand new car, said, “This marvelous offer by Ufone has changed my life. I belong to a poor family and couldn’t even think of buying such a beautiful car but Ufone has transformed my dream into a reality. I want to tell other people to test their fate by participating in these grand schemes like ‘Shahcar’ offered by Ufone, in the future.
The offer that took the subscribers by storm was in operation from 7th February to 31st March 2013. In order to qualify for the lucky draw customers were simply required to buy a Ufone SIM, or use an existing Ufone connection or simply port into Ufone’s network and consume a minimum balance of Rs.300 before 31st March 2013. The minimum consumption of Rs.300 automatically ensured a chance to win a brand new Toyota Corolla via lucky draw; interestingly, the more the customers consumed the more chances they got to win.
The offer was designed to cater to Ufone’s valued customers all across Pakistan and after the draw the same fact was reflected amongst the winners as they hailed from across Pakistan and cross section of the society. This lucky draw has successfully bridged the demographical gap between people living in smaller towns and urban metropolis. Majority of the car recipients hailed from smaller cities, where chances to improve living standards are comparatively thin. The result of this lucky draw has showed that when it comes to Ufone anyone from anywhere can be a winner.
